Terms of use
DeafPlaces is a free map made by and for deaf people. These terms apply when you use the site and when you add something to it. In short: be kind, only share what is yours, and tell us if something is wrong.
Who runs DeafPlaces
DeafPlaces is run by Andreas Styltsvig in Denmark. Write to contact@deafplaces.app about anything on the site.
Using the map
You can use the map for free without signing in. Information about places comes from the places themselves, public sources and users. We check what we can, but places change: opening hours, addresses and how sign-friendly a place is can be out of date. Check with the place before you travel.
DeafPlaces is offered as it is. We are not responsible for losses caused by information on the site being wrong or missing, unless the law says otherwise.
Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Keep your sign-in to yourself. You can delete your account at any time under My profile.
What you share
When you add a place, write a review, or upload a video or a profile picture, you must own it or have permission to share it. Don't share photos or videos of other people without their consent.
You keep the rights to what you share. You give DeafPlaces a free, worldwide permission to show it on DeafPlaces for as long as it is there. If you delete it, we stop showing it.
Rules for reviews and content
Write about your own experience, and be honest and fair. Not allowed: false claims about people or places, hate, harassment, threats, ads or spam, and anything illegal.
We may remove content that breaks these rules and close accounts that break them again and again. If we remove something you shared, we tell you why, and you can write to us if you think we got it wrong.
Report a problem
Use "Correct or report" on a place, or write to contact@deafplaces.app, if something is wrong, illegal, or uses your photo or text without permission. Tell us where it is and why. We look at every report and reply as soon as we can.
If you run a place
If your place is on the map and you want something changed or removed, write to contact@deafplaces.app. We fix mistakes quickly.
Photos and map data
Photos belong to the people who took them, and they are named on the photo. Maps come from Google Maps. The DeafPlaces name, logo and design belong to DeafPlaces.
Changes and law
We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we say so on the site. Danish law applies. If you live in another country, you keep the rights your own consumer law gives you.
