Finding deaf-friendly places

What is DeafPlaces?
DeafPlaces is a free deaf map of the world. It shows deaf-owned and deaf-friendly places where you can use sign language: cafés, restaurants, guides, deaf clubs, deaf schools, sports clubs and transport.
How do I find deaf-friendly places near me?
Open the map and tap “Show places near me”. You can also search for a city, or pick a country and see every deaf place there as a list.
What is the difference between deaf-owned and deaf-friendly?
A deaf-owned place is owned and run by deaf people, and sign language is the everyday language. Other places have deaf staff, or staff who sign. Every place has a badge, so you know what to expect before you go in.
Which sign languages can I use?
Each place lists the sign languages you can use there, for example ASL, BSL, Danish Sign Language or International Sign.
Can I use DeafPlaces when I travel?
Yes. DeafPlaces is made for deaf travellers, with places in 104 countries. Plan your trip country by country, or find a deaf café, a guide or a deaf club when you arrive.
How do I add a deaf place to the map?
Tap “Add place” and tell us about it. It is free, both for places run by deaf people and for places that welcome sign language. We check every place before it goes on the map.
