FAID is a school for deaf children from preschool to secondary level. The Dutch priest Arie Andeweg founded it in 1957, after meeting deaf adults in Beirut's coffee houses. He is called 'the father of deaf people in Lebanon'. The school uses total communication, both speech and sign, and has a deaf choir that performs in sign language. Contact the school before visiting.
